New Delhi: Gone are those good old days when you used to happily go ahead with multiple transactions just by entering the PIN (Personal Identification Number) once at the beginning. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken an initiative to put a check on the unbridled growth of cases where ATM cards have been misused by unauthorized people.
So, the next time you visit an ATM counter, be prepared to enter your PIN every time you want your transaction to recur. Be it withdrawing money or checking balance it is mandatory to enter the PIN afresh.
RBI has issued a directive to the banks to allow their customers only one transaction at ATM machines at a time. Most ATM users conduct various transactions including depositing fund, transferring money and paying bills through the ATMs.
